Prudhoe Castle First School opened in September 1973.

Children can start at our nursery in the term after their 2nd birthday. They progress through school until the end of year four when they move to middle school.

Prudhoe Castle First School consists of three class groups including a new Early Years unit which incorporates Nursery and Reception. We have a multi purpose hall and a purpose built community ICT room which houses 18 computers with all the associated equipment. We have a dedicated class for intervention delivery and a wrap around care room with access to an outdoor space and separate access for delivery and collection of children.

The school has a small resource room that is used both as a library and a group teaching room. The Early Years unit benefits from its own toilet facilities as well as an outdoor area ensuring children can access the outdoor environment in all weathers.

We have extensive playground facilities which are used throughout the year as well as a forest school area and large playing field.

Our school day starts at 08.45 am and finishes at 3.15 pm giving children 32.5 hours school time over a period of one week. We also operate a breakfast and after school club, details of which can be obtained from the school office.

We have a wrap around care service that operates from 07.30am until 17.30 pm
