Prudhoe Castle First School is a school in the heart of the local community. We are a small First school with Big Heart and Big Ambition and are committed to providing the very best educational experience for all.
We are proud to be part of the Cheviot Learning Trust, a multi academy trust made up of 19 schools – all within the three tier system. We work closely with the schools in the Trust to provide excellent education for the benefit of all.
At Prudhoe Castle First School we are very lucky to have a large playground and outdoor area with our own forest school which we use regularly to deliver our curriculum.
You can begin your journey at Prudhoe Castle First School at 2 years old in Little Castle where our highly skilled staff work with up to 15 2 year olds.
We then have 3 further mixed age range classes; Early years, KS1 and KS2.
To support working parents we also have our own wrap around provision – Castle Kids Club, which runs from 7:30am and is open until 5:30pm
To support our community we have a dedicated community space where we run various community groups, including a baby group every Friday morning and extra curricular activities for our families and pupils.
As well as our core curriculum offer we also have:
- Professional coaches from the Newcastle United Foundation, to teach our PE lessons.
- External music teachers delivering whole class instrumental tuition.
- Rocksteady who deliver instrumental tuition where pupils learn to play as a band
- Character Education programme – Commando Joes that forms part of weekly learning in school
- Wide range of free extra-curricular activities led by external providers or our school staff
- Vast experience of supporting pupils with a wide range of additional needs.
After completing their time at Prudhoe Castle, our children progress to Highfield Middle School and then to Prudhoe High School.
