A high-quality physical education curriculum inspires all pupils to succeed and excel in competitive sport and other physically-demanding activities. It should provide opportunities for pupils to become physically confident in a way which supports their health and fitness. Opportunities to compete in sport and other activities build character and help to embed values such as fairness and respect. (National Curriculum)
At Prudhoe Castle First School we aim to inspire all children and for each child to fulfil their potential. We want the children’s experience of PE to be positive, motivating and fun. PE enables pupils to become physically confident and supports their health, wellbeing and fitness, providing the foundations for lifelong activity. We want them to experience personal success through competitive sport and physical activities.
To support the delivery of our PE curriculum we use the Newcastle United Foundation, Northumberland Cricket Board – Chance to Shine, Close House Golf coaches. We participate in the Schools Games mark events with Active Northumberland.
At Prudhoe Castle we are proud to have achieved the Gold award for School Games.
